It is centered around a group of very close friends in 1929 when the stock market crashes and they lose everything. Gardner that I finished a couple of months ago, but I still can’t get out of my head. I don’t want to say anything further because I think they were trying to keep it a surprise for viewers, but if you like Degrassi and are interested in gay or lesbian movies, this might be right up your alley. The synopsis stated that it is about a group of teens trying to escape the drama of their school and create a little group where they can just be themselves. This one is actually a hidden LGBT gem on Netflix! It was a recommended film for me, and I was surprised to say the least. There is nothing better than seeing someone follow their dreams and loving it! Geography Club It was very inspirational and I had so many feels. This is a film about Laura Dekker a teenage Dutch girl and her trip across the world to be the youngest person to sail the world alone. A vlog style documentary about a girl and her boat. I actually just finished this one like 2 minutes ago, and I am still in awe. It has everything: action, romance, small bits of comedy, and you really do feel so much after it is all done. It is so moving, I definitely think anyone an everyone needs to watch this film. It is a true story about the four Jewish Bielski brothers in Nazi-occupied Eastern Europe escape into the Belarussian forests where they struggle to build a safe town for them and whatever remaining Jews that they come across that have made it so far all while fighting for their lives. Worth checking out, though for a little comical sitcom fix.

It was some good time-killing entertainment but I wouldn’t go as far to say that it will be missed. I feel like I generally hate when shows are cancelled after the first season because I start to enjoy it and then it is gone, but I am really okay with this one. I can see how the show was cancelled after season 1, but I still enjoyed the episodes that were on Netflix. This show reminds me of Rules of Engagement that I was pretty into a while back, only not quite as good. Looking forward to season two which I think will be on Netflix soon.

But… they aren’t terrible people (for the most part) and it is sort of hard not to like them! (Even if you don’t dig the haircuts, haha) This show requires some brain work, I found myself thinking about it long after watching an episode. They sew razor blades in the brims of their hats if that says anything about them. The Peaky Blinders centers around the three Shelby brothers and their friends starting out as bookies and moving up in the world of crime pretty fast. This one is about the Peaky Blinders: a gang in the 20s (just after the first world war) in Birmingham, England. Peaky BlindersĪnother BBC historical drama. I was quickly addicted to it because of how easily I fall for characters and the actors who play those characters. It is so interesting! I know what you are thinking, and I thought those same thoughts when I first saw this show up on my Netflix most recommended: Is this seriously a show about a bunch of random people giving birth, won’t that get old fast! But I couldn’t have been more wrong. It is about a group of nurses working as midwifes alongside some nuns in England in the early 50s. I realize that this show is definitely not for everyone. I don’t feel like I have much of a life aside from that, but somehow I have been slowly stockpiling movies, shows, and books that I have had the chance to enjoy and I have been itching to share them with you! Call the Midwife Nothing is going to change that much for me (besides my name, which I suppose it a big deal), but its the start of our new life together! It is going to be a small little courthouse ceremony followed by one of the things Steph loves a lot: Bowling! Just something really intimate and small to celebrate our love.Īnyways, moving on from that, school (which is still amazing and fun, but challenging at times) and work has been a tough balance. It’s finally happening! I’m excited for us, but I’m a bit anxious. We went to the courthouse this past week to file for a marriage license.
